Where in the World Was I This Past Easter Weekend?

Care to take a guess?

Clues
The town’s main attraction is its lake.
It’s a very touristy medieval town.
Many bridges can be found all over town, it’s pretty much built on the lake.
It’s in France.

The person who guesses correctly by April 1st will get a prize from Dijon.

Not Just For Thanksgiving Anymore

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005

I used to be baffled as to why Ocean Spray cranberry juices were available over the border in Germany and Switzerland but not in France.
I should have read this press release.

I finally spotted some in the grocery store this past weekend.
And for a short time (because it’s a new product) you can […]

Nuits-Saint-Georges

Monday, March 21st, 2005

The Nuits-Saint-Georges Semi-Marathon & 10K took place this past weekend.
I ran the 10K in the dismal time of 1:05:24 (474th out of 640 runners).
My worst 10K time ever!

A) I’m not worth the extra stamp.
B) My friends have all forgotten me.
C) My friends are all too busy with their jobs and new babies to take a […]

Flowers=Spring

Monday, March 14th, 2005

There’s nothing like a flower show to make you long for Spring.

This week in Dijon, hundreds of orchid species are on display to see as well as smell.
If only there were a way to record smell the way we can record sight and […]

Goofing Off

Friday, March 11th, 2005

Excusez-moi while I play around with some new theme ideas.
The newest version (1.5) of WordPress makes swapping themes fast and easy and so I’m taking advantage of this option.

Since I haven’t done much knitting lately I’ve been thinking of changing the name of my Blog to something more generic and non-knitting related.

Spot the Difference

Friday, March 11th, 2005

Can you spot the difference between these two trench coats?

If you said “No”, you’d be correct.
There is no difference except in the price.

Bought through La Redoute in France: $43.54*.

Bought as an import through La Redoute in the States: $24.99**.

And this wasn’t the only item I found with this kind of price discrepancy.
You’d think […]
